Kudos To Aaron, Gianna and Mason
SUPER LAWYERS
Aaron & Gianna, PLC salutes William D. Aaron, Jr., Dominic J. Gianna and Omar K. Mason upon their selection for inclusion in Super Lawyers – 2017. This is the tenth straight year than Dom has been selected, the ninth straight year that Bill has been selected, and the second straight year that Omar has been selected.. Dom has been selected in the area of Civil Litigation and Bill and Omar have been selected in the area of Business Litigation.
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.
The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, it limits the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public, i.e., lawyers in private practice and Legal Aid attorneys.
The Super Lawyers patented selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area.
Super Lawyers only selects 5% of the licensed active attorneys in each state making this a significant accolade.
BEST LAWYERS
Aaron & Gianna, PLC additionally salutes firm Managing Shareholder, William D. Aaron, Jr. upon his being named to the 2017 edition of Best Lawyers® In America in the practice areas of Municipal Law and Municipal Litigation. Bill has been listed in Best Lawyers® each year since 2008. First published in 1983, Best Lawyers® is based on an exhaustive annual peer-review survey. For the new U.S. edition, more than 39,000 of the lawyers listed in Best Lawyers® cast more than 3.1 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in the same and related specialties.
Lawyers listed in Best Lawyers have no say in deciding which practice areas they are included in. They are voted into practice areas entirely as a result of the votes they receive from their peers. Because of the rigorous and transparent methodology used by Best Lawyers, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers® is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers® “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.”
Bill has served as City Attorney for the City of New Orleans and Special Counsel for a variety of governmental entities including the Regional Transit Authority of New Orleans, the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, the City of New Orleans, the New Orleans City Council, the Orleans Parish School Board, the Jefferson Parish Charter Advisory Board, the Jefferson Parish School Board, the Housing Authority of New Orleans, the Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission, the St. Mary Parish Council, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, the New Orleans Aviation Board and the Baytown (Texas) Housing Authority. Since 2002 Bill has served as General Counsel for the Downtown Development District of New Orleans.
